Today we had our first Steve' Club Career Day. About 9 members from CrossFit Tribe were kind enough to come over and talk to the Steve's Club kids about their careers and how they got to where they are today. Each member spent several minutes talking about what they do and the steps they took to get there. We had a great range of professions (psychologist, chemist, Air Force pilot, Dentist, Pharamceutical Sales Rep, Nurse, Millworker, Business Management Consultant, and a Veterinarian). The kids were very interested and had a lot of questions to ask.

I think it became rather apparent that there is not just one recipe to success. While each speaker found a different path to success, everyone attributed hard work over anything else as the main contributing factor that got them where they are today. One member said he practically failed the SAT's and couldn't get into any 4 year colleges so went to community college and busted his tail to get into Med school and continued to work hard before graduating with a masters degree.

Another member talked about working a full time job while going to school full time to finish there degree. The kids really got a lot out of it and it just reinforced the fact that if you really want something bad enough, you can achieve it with enough hard work.
